Xbox dumped a mountain of trailers on us

Microsoft hosted the Xbox Showcase on Sunday evening and the game maker has been busy since acquiring ever game developer that wasn’t nailed down a few years ago.

While PlayStation has traditionally been the head honcho when it comes to exclusive titles that gamers are chomping at the bit to play, Xbox had a strong showing on Sunday evening. Aside from the ROG Xbox Ally and Ally X, there are a great many games coming to the Xbox ecosystem over the next year.

Let’s start with the big ticket item here: Gears of War: Reloaded. Originally released for the Xbox 360 back in 2006, the cover based shooter has evolved into a franchise spanning five mainline titles and several spin-offs. Now, a modern audience can experience the game that started it all now with 4K resolution, 120FPS support and other enhancements.

We were also shown a new trailer for The Blood of Dawnwalker, the new project from Bandai Namco and Rebel Wolves. After a brief teaser in 2024, this game trailer gives us a deeper look at the story and some gameplay. Maybe this will help wash out the sour taste Redfall left in the mouths of everybody.

Another title that caught our attention was Aphelion from the folks at Don’t Nod.

“By 2060, Earth will be uninhabitable. The discovery of a 9th planet – Persephone – at the edge of the Solar System, is humanity’s best hope. The European Space Agency is dispatching the Hope 01 scientific mission, consisting of 2 accomplished astronauts, Ariane and Thomas. Their mission: to survey the planet and determine whether humanity can prosper anew here,” reads a blurb.

We’re curious about the ESA’s involvement here as it’s branding features rather prominently in what looks to be a cosmic horror game akin to Prey’s recent remake.

Game Freak also captured our attention with Beast of Reincarnation, coming in 2026. The game is set in post-apocalyptic Japan that is described as a “one-person, one-dog action RPG built around demanding, technical combat”. You had us at Dog folks.

These are just a few of the titles announced. You can scroll through the trailers below to see everything coming to Xbox in the next year or so.

Take note that some of the trailers will require that you sign into a YouTube account and will contain content not suited for younger audiences. We recommend grabbing a drink and a snack because there are a lot of trailers to get through.
